Student Transportation of America is a family business; the family of our 18,500 employees who work each and every day. Here at STA, our employees do more than transport kids to school safely -- they are active members in their local communities, and join together for nationwide community outreach initiatives. Each month we highlight one of our many employees for the caring and extraordinary things they do for their terminals, communities, and for one another.
Student Transportation of America would like to recognize Latasha Hubbard, a Dispatcher with our GoldStar Transit (GST) operation in Terrell (TX), for this month’s Employee Spotlight!
“Mrs. Hubbard’s contributions to the location’s success has been extraordinary,” said Freddie Pierce, the General Manager for GST's Terrell location. “Her willingness to go the extra mile regardless of the situation or circumstance has really made an impact on the morale of our location. Her ability to lead by example has really demonstrated the pride and self-confidence that she has in her co-workers and the team she is associated with.”
As Dispatcher for the Terrell terminal, Latasha excels in helping drivers maintain efficiency with their scheduled routes and is a stickler for safety policies and procedures, especially those directly impacting the students. “Her belief in doing things the right way the first time has set a precedence and a standard that she upholds daily,” Pierce added. “Her attention to detail is one of the key components that exemplifies not only who she is as a representative of STA but who she is as a human being.” Hubbard also serves as the Director of Youth Ministry in her local church and often takes her church involvement to the community by adopting a nursing home and helping to provide a variety of services and assistance.
Colleagues describe her as “one of the most positive people”, “upbeat”, “reliable”, and responsible for “spreading positive light”.
Latasha has been inducted into the 2019 Class of STA's esteemed Safety 'Wall of Fame'. Of this recognition, she says, "I once was called a ‘utility’ person, but at the time I didn’t really understand why that label was associated with me. But I finally realized it means I’m able to wear many hats and can be utilized in every area of our operation within the STA family. I believe safety is the foundation of what the company is built upon and being considered and recognized for such a prestigious award is absolutely mind blowing and a great honor.”
We are proud to have Latasha as part of the STA + GST Family!
