Student Transportation of America is a family business; the family of our 14,000 employees who work each and every day. Here at Student Transportation of America, our employees do more than transport kids to school safely. They are active members in their local community and often join together for nationwide community outreach initiatives. Each month we will highlight one of our many employees who do caring and extraordinary things for their terminals, communities, and for one another.
Student Transportation of America would like to recognize Melodie Fitzpatrick, the Safety Supervisor with our STA location in Danbury, Connecticut, for this month’s Employee Spotlight. Melodie is considered a leader among her peers. Coworkers say that she puts every effort into creating successful and engaging safety meetings each month, and spends her free time on the weekends helping new drivers gain proficiency in testing material. She is also heavily involved with the American Cancer Society and takes time to drive friends and family members to their cancer treatments. “Melodie’s role is critical to the day to day operations of our terminal,” said Margery Tymula, the Danbury Terminal Manager. “[The employees] know how much she respects them and how hard she works for them. It is an honor to have Mel on the Danbury team.”
